What the Mac version is for
On a phone you hold the camera at arm's length. On a Mac you sit back from it, at a desk, on a display large enough to read from — which is where most talking-head video actually gets recorded. Recito is a resizable window there: make it the size of your setup and the teleprompter and the picture scale with it.
A real window, not a stretched phone app
Resize it to suit your desk. Read from arm's length or from across the room on a big display. The script band and the camera preview scale together.
It tells you which microphone it is using
macOS routes every app through one system-selected input. Rather than offering a chooser it cannot honour, Recito names the input it is recording with and links straight to the Sound settings that change it.
Pause mid-script, keep the take
Stop in the middle, carry on from the exact word you stopped at, and still get one video. Fluffed a line? Delete just that part and record it again — the script rewinds with it.

Scripts, folders and takes work as they do on iPhone and iPad. The one-time unlock covers all three — buy it once, on any of them.
It follows your voice
Just read. The script keeps pace with you — speed up, slow down, pause to think — with the word you are on marked. Recognition runs entirely on your Mac and nothing leaves it. Included free, on by default; the Voice icon on the record screen turns it off for a take. On a desk, where the keyboard is not where your hands are during a take, this is the difference between finishing and reaching over.
Honest limits
No 4K on a Mac
Mac cameras do not reach it. The Mac version records at the resolution the camera actually provides, and the listing does not claim otherwise — 4K is an iPhone and iPad capability.
One microphone, chosen by macOS
There is no in-app mic chooser on Mac, because the system does not give apps one. What Recito can do is tell you which input is live, and take you to where you change it.
